Starting an automotive apprenticeship with VACC is a step-by-step process designed to make sure you’re ready for both the workshop and formal training. From your initial application through to induction, each stage helps us confirm your eligibility, match you with a suitable Host Business, and prepare you to begin your trade with confidence.

  • 1. Apply Online

    Submit your application form on this website or via SEEK with your details, and resume & cover letter.

  • 2. Phone-Call Screening

    You’ll have a short call with our team to confirm your interest, check your eligibility, and discuss your career goals.

  • 3. Interview & Aptitude Test

    Attend a formal interview with VACC and complete a short aptitude test to help assess your suitability for the trade.

  • 4. Host Introduction / Second Interview

    If you progress, you’ll be introduced to a potential Host Business for a workplace visit and second interview.

  • 5. Pre-Employment Medical

    Complete a basic health check to confirm you’re fit to safely carry out workshop duties.

  • 6. Two-Day Induction

    Take part in a two-day induction with VACC covering contracts, policies, payroll, safety and procedures.

  • Start Your Apprenticeship!

    Begin working with your Host Business while VACC manages your pay, entitlements, and enrols you at TAFE.
